Setting method

  • I actually downloaded the app. 
  • Launch WiFi Protect and tap Next. 
  • Tap "Protect WiFi communication". 

Select whether to allow notifications to be sent. 
You can change this setting later. VPN settings are required to protect Wi-Fi communication, so install it. When you tap "Install protection settings", you can proceed to the next process, but it is stated at the bottom of the screen that an English dialog will be displayed. I'm grateful that the English dialog will be displayed and that you will be told in advance which one to choose.

VPN settings

The VPN settings dialog will be displayed in English, as was announced on the previous screen. Tap Allow to install the VPN settings. By the way, if you accidentally tap "Don't Allow", it will just return to the previous screen, so you can try again with the same procedure.

When the VPN settings are installed, the SSID of the currently connected Wi-Fi will be displayed. Tap "Protect connected WiFi" to protect the communication.

When the communication is protected, the screen will change to the one shown above. If you check the status bar, you can see that the "VPN" icon has been added. You can disconnect the VPN connection by tapping "Stop protection". At this time, if you turn on "Automatically protect when connecting to public WiFi" displayed at the bottom, communication will be automatically protected when connecting to public Wi-Fi with the related application "Town WiFi". Cancellation 

If you want to cancel the automatic protection, you can change it from the setting icon displayed on the upper right of the screen. When you open the "Set up automatically protected WiFi" page, you will see Wi-Fi that you have connected to and you can switch the automatic protection setting.

You can check the installed VPN settings in Settings> General> VPN. The item displayed as "WiFi Protect" is the setting installed this time. You can also make a VPN connection by switching "Status" to Connect.
